  1. Family Days – Commonwealth Crafts

    In collaboration with Glasgow Life we will be offering an array of exciting crafts from different corners of the world. We will be celebrating the crafts of Commonwealth countries with some ‘come and try it’ workshops in a diverse range of arts and crafts, something for all the family.

  2. Commonwealth Fun Day

    To celebrate the arrival of the Commonwealth Queens Baton Relay in Govan, Plantation Productions will be partnering with Glasgow Life and local community organisations to host an afternoon of fun activities, arts and crafts, music, food and performance for all the family. Look out for Sunny Govan’s “Commonwealth of our Communities” radio booth and add you voice to the Commonwealth legacy!

     

    FACT: Did you know the Queens Baton, which has traveled the Commonwealth, was crafted here in Govan by the talented folk at Galgael? Let’s give it a big, warm welcome home!

  3. Here’s Tae Your Health – now online

    Last Summer, just before the Independence debate had kicked off in earnest, we made a film with a group of volunteers to look at Scottish culture and its relationship with alcohol.

    It raised some very interesting questions, and whilst we had fun making it we also had some heartfelt discussions about the problems and possible solutions to Scotland’s “drinking problem”.

  4. New 2014-15 Brochure Now Available

    The new Plantation Productions “Making Art Matter” is now available for the year 2014-15. This years program is packed full of cultural events, workshops, exhibitions and projects with something to suit everyone. Making Art Matter aims to engage with a wider non-sports audience through creative activity that is meaningful and enjoyable for all, promoting the ethos and diversity of the Commonwealth.

  5. Clydeside Story Premier Screening!

    Since the summer of 2013 volunteer film crew Redstone TV have been filming the Clydeside Story groups through their trials and tribulations as they learn new skills and discover new talent as they work towards their one big night. This film ‘Clydeside Story’ will have it’s premier screening at the opening night of the BBC at the Quay pop-up festival, part of the Commonwealth Games celebrations.   6. Govan Housing Association Family Fun Day!

    A full day of fun for all the family – come along and join in the free activities and celebrate YOUR local community. With facepainting, sports, bouncy castles, music and much much more!! Govan Housing Association are offering opportunities for local groups and artists to set up stall at their event – just get in touch and bring your won table (and gazebo). Look out for our very own Bead n Blether providing jewellery making activities for kids!

    The clock is ticking … our new programme CREATIVE STEPS to Living Well kicks off week commencing 23rd June. With an accent on health and well-being; if you’re feeling down, not getting out enough, then take a wee step and meet up with friendly folk. Classes start with TIME OUT (referral class) for a variety of arts & crafts techniques and MACHINE SEWING CLASSES. So don’t hang about, get in touch to find out more! Places limited!
