The third Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival will take place in October 2009. As part of the program, Plantation will be screening films, including the premier of a specially commissioned film, made by people with experience of mental health issues.
The festival aims to promote mental wellbeing through the arts, raise awareness of and reduce the stigma of mental ill health.
Since movies first came into being they have engaged, delighted and challenged us. Cinema has given us enriching, life-affirming, collective experiences to offset the strains of our everyday lives. On the 5th October, the Viewpoints film group will screen the film that has been nominated by people in the South West Glasgow as being the film that makes them Feel Good!
The genre can be anything from comedy to horror, from action to romance - it's the film that you will watch again and again to lift your spirits or brighten a dull day.
