Funded through Awards for All, this project started with a mini film festival run from the Pearce Institute in October 07. From there, we recruited a group of people who were interested in taking part in a scriptwriting project. Working with writer/director Alan De Pellette the group developed nine scripts, based around the articles within the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
In June 2008, a crew of young filmmakers, actors and volunteers, under the direction of Alan De Pellette, began filming of the scripts. The writers were on hand to observe the process of transforming a script to screen, and some made their acting debut on their own film. The compendium of short films were premiered at the Glasgow Film Theatre in August 08 and are available to view on our Digital Archive.
The films can be made available in DVD format (by request) to screen at community event and film festivals.
