ORKNEY STREET HERITAGE FILM

Glasgow South West Regeneration Agency - Film Commission

This film was commissioned to document the history and heritage of the former police station building in Orkney Street Govan. The GSWRA is currently overseeing the renovation of the building -restoring it to its former glory in order that it can be used by local groups and social enterprises for office and meeting space.

A key part of the film brief was to capture the stories surrounding the building and the role of the police within the community. Filmmaker Kirsten MacLeod used local connections with community groups and individuals to discover a rich source of compelling stories, archive footage and historical background.
