Scottish Mental Health Arts & Film Festival 2013
Once again we are proud to play our part in this year’s Scottish Mental Health Arts & Film Festival. This national festival is the largest of its kind in the world, bringing people from all over Scotland together to help raise awareness and reduce stigma around mental health. Everyone has “mental health” and the festival focusses on how creativity can help improve our wellbeing and provide a platform for the excellent work being done by Arts & Health organisations across Scotland.
Throughout the year we work in partnership with the local Arts & Wellbeing Network to co-ordinate a series of workshops, activities and events in the South of Glasgow to work towards the Festival which takes place during October each year. This year’s programme includes:
WORKSHOPS in Ceramics, Drama, Art and Photography running from August to October in the lead up to the Festival.
Saturday 5th October: FAMILY FUN DAY – Kinning Park Complex 1-5pm
Monday 14th October: KEEPING IT REAL (Exhibition) – Leverndale Hospital 6pm onwards
Tuesday 15th October: Pop-Up Programmers presents SYNECDOCHE, NEW YORK (Film) – 7-10pm
Friday 18th October: TIME OUT ART EXHIBITION AND CREATIVE WRITING PERFORMANCE – Gallery 966 2-5pm
Tuesday 22nd October: WALKING IN MY SHOES (Drama performance) – Venue tbc
Friday 25th October: LIFE IS A CABARET (Music and Comedy) – Pearce Institute – 7-11pm
